Ray and I have spent the last nineteen years loving
Puglia and working with trulli. Puglia is the latest
“buzz-word” in travel. There is great
interest in buying and owning trulli. People want
their own slice of beautiful Mediterranean climate,
lovely mediaeval towns, fantastic sea and beaches,
and of that wonderful way of life, with its healthy
and delicious cuisine and superb wines. How better
to access that, than in a delightful trullo?
Beware....
Estate agents and builders are springing up everywhere.
We are starting to hear a few scare stories. Please,
be sceptical, be wary!
Why

Trulli are unique stone buildings, usually set in
wonderful locations, with land, teeming with mature
olive trees, almonds, figs and other fruit. They require
careful, sympathetic and skilful renovation, by well-respected,

This section of our website is not aimed at selling
you trulli. It is here to point you in the right direction
and put you in contact with people we know and trust,
so that you can buy and renovate a trullo, with confidence.
We start with local people, friends we have known
and have been able to rely on, completely, for years.
These are local agents, builders, architects and lawyers,
whom we have used ourselves. We have put friends in
touch with them and all have completed really successful
purchases and renovation projects. It has worked for
all of us, so it can work for you.

A
wonderful opportunity to buy a trullo which can be easily
renovated to offer a unique one, two or three bedroom
property of the highest standard.
Planning
has already been discussed with the relevant authorities
and will go ahead with minimum adjustment (up to 80m
² with swimming pool).
Builders
quotes have also already been received and can be supplied
with an informal plan if necessary.
The
property is detached and is situated on an old vineyard,
which extends to approx 2 acres. It is about 3kms from
the beautiful, historic town of Cisternino. In an elevated

the land is edged by traditional dry stone walls. There
are a number of fruit, nut and fig trees in the grounds,
as well as a number of mature olive trees dotted around
the grounds and an olive grove with approx 40 trees.
The
property itself is made up of two parts, one part is
thought to be approx 200-250 years old the other larger
part is thought to be approx 150 years old. An unusual
feature is the size of the main trullo cone, which is
at least 5m tall. There is traditional limestone flooring
in the main cone. There are 3 cones in all and a good
sized alcove/'forno'.
Planning
has already been discussed and it is possible to build
up to 3 bedrooms and even a swimming pool.
