Close to all of our hearts for its enchanting location and beautiful views, we all think that Trullo Noce is the perfect romantic hideaway. Laura says that it really brings out the romance in Alex, when they stay there, so, say no more!

Our own "little gem", this trullo is idyllic. Particularly spacious for only two and quite open-plan, it is beautifully furnished, and is indeed an absolute jewel. Detached and next to Trullo Melograno, it is in an equally rural spot, with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, and the same stunning pool.

Outside, the large piazzale, which gives guests the choice of sitting in sun or in the shade of its ancient olive trees, overlooks a small valley of mature olive trees and a variety of fruit trees, terraced into the landscape. Guests are welcome to help themselves to any fruit and nuts in season. With its own built-in barbecue, this trullo is in a glorious setting and is particularly popular with honeymooners or any couple searching for a romantic holiday.

Guests of Trullo Noce have their own path to the fabulous swimming pool, which is landscaped into the grounds (about 50m away) and discreetly hidden by dry stone walls. Shared only with Trullo Melograno, with views reaching far into the distance, this is surely a slice of paradise.

Our stock of our neighbour’s wine (and honesty box) – ridiculously reasonably priced, has also proved to be very popular – very popular, indeed! Another big hit is our olive oil - extra virgin, cold press and as organic as it gets, it is Pugliese oil at its best.

Past guests write of “getting hooked” on Trullo Noce and of “quickly falling under its spell”. It is certainly magical and a real romantic hideaway. As guests Adele & David Wilkinson, from Burnley, wrote, “You could be the most famous person in the world and remain anonymous here – no paparazzi, just sublime serenity and spectacular scenery!”

Note that there is an open stone staircase, at the front of the trullo - a traditional and attractive feature giving access to the roof. Therefore, a possible hazard for over-adventurous guests!

Anyone can restore a trullo…..but, after being in Puglia for more than twenty years, few do it with our passion, energy and knowledge, and our hearts have definitely ruled our heads. With respect for their unique structure, character and style, we restore them to a high standard, with stone floors, stone cones and sympathetic use of local and traditional materials. We use only the best local Pugliese craftsmen and we skimp on nothing. Spacious, with superbly fitted shower rooms with large showers, they have tasteful furnishings, and are decorated with Sicilian and Pugliese ceramics, and local artists’ paintings. They have central heating, wood-burning stoves, with wood for guests to use, free of charge, and mosquito nets. They are full of those little extra touches, which make places so special, and we have done our utmost to ensure that they feel more like a real home, than a holiday home. Each trullo has a lovely terrace (piazzale), with built-in barbecue, and so much outside space that it is a real treat.

3km from Cisternino, in a rural setting of rolling countryside, dry stone walls and mature olive trees, all five of our trulli are surrounded by extensive grounds and the charm of their location cannot be overstated. Ray has indulged in his passion for trees, transplanting huge olive trees and planting native and ornamental trees and shrubs. Many of our guests have loved picking fresh figs for breakfast, walnuts and almonds to munch on, and even pomegranates.

Our pools are magnificent. Trullo Melograno and Trullo Noce share a beautiful, large pool. In the most idyllic location, with fabulous views, it is landscaped into the grounds and “hidden” behind dry stone walls. A real slice of paradise, the tranquility of this spot is difficult to find in a modern world.
