Michael saw this trullo as a ruin and he can’t believe the transformation – fantastic quality and attention to detail. Ray & Annie think it’s a peach of a trullo.

A first glimpse of cones, nestling into pretty countryside, leads to this breathtaking trullo, 3km from Cisternino. Glistening white, in a private rural location, with views over countryside and a vineyard, it is surrounded by its own land, with olive, pear, Indian fig, apple and walnut trees.

Inside, it is characterful, with stone floors, masses of original exposed stone, and lots of niches. Charmingly on different levels, with one cosy area leading into another, each “room” seems quite open-plan. The owners’ good taste, personal touches, a colour theme of ivories, terracottas and greens, with hints of black, and the high standard of renovation and furnishing make this a very comfortable and stunning trullo.

At the front, there is a lovely terrace and gravelled area, with mature olive trees. At the back, the terrace also has an olive tree, overlooks the vineyard, and has a built-in barbecue. Guests can enjoy al fresco living to the full, with masses of room for sunbathing and dining!

The owners, great friends of Ray & Annie, use Trullo Giorgianna during the year and want to give guests the same experience they love so much, so they leave their beautiful ceramics and bits and pieces for all to enjoy. Neighbours, Anna & Tommaso, look after the trullo at other times, tending the garden and cleaning - they do a fine job.
